Hey all,
Not sure how many of you have had a chance yet to use the new Olympus LS100 recorder, that is for the most part accessible, but I've had a few weeks with one, and have had good success creating multi tracked projects. I've included a link here if anyone is interested in hearing the sound quality of the recorder. This is about 5 or 6 tracks including vocals and I did this independently without any assistance.

wow! that recording sounds really awesome.
is the Olympus LS100 recorder eazy to use?
is it ok to record with drums? if so, I'm interested to buy one.
thanks.
I listen to a podcast about it in the blind cool tech, and the podcaster sed that the molti track recording of it is not accessible. however is it easy to do?
sorry for lots of questions, I'm just interested.
Yes, it's deffinitly easy to do once you have the layout of the multi track functions memorized. Olympus has made the beeps sound different when navigating between different tracks, so as long as your project is lets say not to complex in tracks, under 10 or 12, you'd deffinitly be able to record independently. You could deffinitly multi track drums and I have done so with this device, but for the song I did this week, I was going for a slightly different sound.
it seems like a pretty decent recorder. The base is slightly better at least (unless you did that yourself afterwards).
I didn't edit the tracks at all, I just sent them in dry added flange to the guitar as I sent it in and panned the two guitars before recording as well. I have a really nice 5 string bass here, but I used my 100 dollar johnson.
Well you can't argue with the results. The vocal volume does fluctuate, and I think you might have been trying to give the microphone a kiss in the beginning, but it's a pretty solid recording. As one who has an olimpus DS70, I'm rather envious.
apparently, it never added my response to this. I actually rerecorded the vocals so you could hear how quiet the fantom power jack was. I used a shore PG27 rather the 58 I originally used. If you're curious to hear how good the powered jacks are, it's now up using the same link above.
do you perhaps have a recording with drums using the LS100?
Unfortunately, I don't currently. I'm not a drummer so, I try to stay away from adding them to my stuff myself, it often frustrates me! I'll try to add some to the next work I work on.
ok, thanks, I'm looking forword for that.
Here is a link to the song mixed with drums added. Not the best as I say, i'm not a drummer.

To make it easier, I put it on soundclick.

oh man! it sounds like a real studio recording amazing! I'm now convince to buy the LS100. thank-you very much sir for taking time to record this.
My pleasure.
The LS 100 is deffinitly a step up from any other way that I've recorded. Mind you I also have a macbook pro with garage ban and other multi track packages. I just felt like this so far has worked the easiest, and has consistantly given me a chrisp sound.
It all sounded good to me. I don't do recordings and that, but it sounded good.
